The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 1C50A-13 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for precision drilling applications in metalworking and machining operations. Measuring 13 mm in diameter with a 132-degree point angle, this insert fits Seat Size 0 holders in the T-A spade drill system. The TiAlN PVD coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life when cutting ferrous materials. Manufactured to grade C5 (P40), it is suited for production drilling in steel and hard materials. Machinists and CNC operators rely on inserts like this for repeatable hole geometry and efficient chip evacuation in high-volume operations.
This insert is intended for use in steel and hard material workpieces, corresponding to material codes P and H. It fits T-A series spade drill holders using Seat Size 0, making it appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where spade drilling tooling is employed. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole production drilling in job shops, aerospace component manufacturing, and general metalworking environments. The 0.125-inch insert thickness supports stable seating and consistent cutting performance across repeated tool changes.
Designed for use with T-A series Seat Size 0 spade drill holders. Compatible with primary workpiece materials classified as P (steel) and H (hard materials) per standard material grade designations.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and all spindle motion stopped before handling tooling. Seat the insert fully against the holder pocket and torque the clamping screw according to the holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the holder seat for chips or wear before seating a new insert, as debris or pocket damage will affect runout and hole quality. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE when handling carbide tooling.
