The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 1C22A-25 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. Part of the T-A Series, this insert features a 132-degree point angle and a TiAlN (Titanium Aluminum Nitride) PVD coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life at elevated cutting speeds. The insert measures 63/64 inches in diameter and fits a Seat Size 2 holder. At a thickness of 0.1875 inches, it is built for precise, repeatable positioning in production drilling environments. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with hard or abrasive workpiece materials will find this insert well-suited to their applications.
The 1C22A-25 is rated for use in stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super-alloys including titanium. These material grades correspond to ISO classifications M, K, N, and S. It is suited for both manual and CNC machining centers where a T-A Series Seat Size 2 holder is already in use. The 132-degree point geometry is appropriate for cross-hole, interrupted cut, and through-hole drilling operations common in aerospace, automotive, and heavy manufacturing environments. Each package contains one insert.
Designed for use with T-A Series Seat Size 2 spade drill holders. Compatible primary workpiece materials include stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super-alloys and titanium (ISO material codes M, K, N, S).
Insert installation and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate T-A Series insert screw and torque to holder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating a new insert, as contamination can affect runout and insert life. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine-specific lockout/tagout protocols before servicing any cutting tool assembly.
