The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 1C21T-.921 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making operations in demanding machining environments. This insert measures 59/64 inches in diameter, fits a Seat Size 1 holder, and features a 132-degree point angle for aggressive cutting geometry. The TiN (Titanium Nitride) PVD coating improves surface hardness and extends tool life across a broad range of workpiece materials. It belongs to the T-A Series, a well-established interchangeable spade drill platform used widely in production machining. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators install and index these inserts as part of a modular spade drill system.
This insert is suited for drilling operations in stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, super-alloys, and titanium. It is appropriate for both manual and CNC drilling setups in industrial, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments. The T-A Series design allows for quick insert changes without removing the holder from the machine, making it a practical choice for high-volume production runs where downtime must be minimized.
Designed for use with T-A Series Seat Size 1 spade drill holders. Suitable for primary workpiece materials including stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metal, super-alloys, and titanium (ISO material codes M, K, N, and S).
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Use the appropriate T-A Series insert seating tool to ensure the insert is fully seated and clamped before resuming operation. Inspect the holder pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage each time the insert is changed. Follow the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material.
