The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 1C20T-.671 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding machining applications. Part of the T-A series, this insert measures 43/64 inches in diameter and features a 132-degree point angle for efficient cutting and controlled chip formation. The TiN (titanium nitride) PVD coating increases surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in production environments. At 0.125 inches thick and weighing 0.1 pounds, this insert fits Seat Size 0 T-A series spade drill holders. It is typically installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in CNC and manual drilling operations.
This insert is suited for drilling stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super-alloys including titanium. These workpiece materials correspond to ISO material classification codes M, K, N, and S. The T-A series spade drill system is a common choice in production machining shops, job shops, and aerospace component manufacturing where a range of difficult-to-machine materials is encountered. The insert is sold individually and is designed as a replaceable cutting element, allowing the drill body to be reused while only the insert is swapped at wear intervals.
Designed for use with T-A series Seat Size 0 spade drill holders. Compatible workpiece materials include stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super-alloys and titanium (ISO codes M, K, N, S).
Installation and replacement of spade drill inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and power locked out. Ensure the seat and insert mating surfaces are clean and free of chips before seating the insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidelines for the clamping screw to avoid insert movement or seat damage during operation. Consult applicable shop safety standards and the toolholder manufacturer documentation before use.
