The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 152T-33 is a cobalt spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making operations on a wide range of metallic workpieces. Part of the T-A series, this insert measures 33 mm in diameter and seats in a Size 2 holder. It carries a 132-degree point angle suited for entry stability and chip control in production drilling. The insert is manufactured from T15 material grade cobalt and finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) PVD coating that extends tool life by reducing friction and resisting wear at elevated cutting temperatures. Thickness is 0.1875 inches. Package quantity is one insert per unit.
This insert is intended for use in ferrous and high-temp alloy machining applications where tool life and dimensional accuracy matter. Workpiece material compatibility spans steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium, making it a versatile choice for job shops, aerospace component machining, and general precision manufacturing. It seats into T-A series Size 2 spade drill holders and is changed out at the spindle without removing the holder from the machine, reducing downtime in high-volume drilling operations.
Designed for use with T-A series Size 2 spade drill holders. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium (ISO material codes P, M, K, and S).
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician at the spindle or on the bench with the machine powered down and locked out. The insert seats into the holder body and is secured with the holder's clamping screw — use the correct driver and do not overtighten, as the seating surface on cobalt inserts can crack under excessive clamp load. Inspect the holder pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer feeds and speeds recommendations for the workpiece material being drilled.
