The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 152T-0101 is a cobalt spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding machining applications. Measuring 1-1/32 inches in diameter with a 132-degree point angle, this insert fits Seat Size 2 T-A series spade drill holders. Manufactured from T15 cobalt material and finished with a TiN (titanium nitride) PVD coating, the 152T-0101 delivers improved wear resistance and edge retention compared to uncoated tooling. At 0.1875 inches thick, it is built for consistent performance in production drilling environments. Installation and replacement are handled by machinists and tooling technicians on CNC machining centers and drill presses.
This insert is engineered for drilling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium — workpiece material codes P, M, K, and S. It is suited for both job-shop and production floor applications where a replaceable spade insert system is preferred over solid carbide or indexable alternatives. The T-A series platform is a common fractional-inch spade drill system used across general manufacturing, aerospace, and heavy equipment industries.
Designed for use with T-A series Seat Size 2 spade drill holders in fractional inch configurations. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium (ISO material codes P, M, K, and S).
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Inspect the holder pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating the new insert. Use the appropriate insert-mounting hardware specified by the holder manufacturer — do not substitute fasteners. Secure the insert to the manufacturer-specified clamping torque using a calibrated torque driver before returning the tool to service.
