The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 152N-0102 is a cobalt spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding machining applications. Part of the T-A Series, this insert features a 132-degree point angle and a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) PVD coating that improves surface hardness and wear resistance. At 0.1875 inches thick and sized for a Seat Size 2 holder, it delivers consistent cutting geometry on 1-1/16 inch diameter bores. Machinists and tool-room technicians working on CNC lathes, machining centers, and drill presses select this insert for its balance of edge retention and thermal stability under load.
This insert is suited for production drilling in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium — material categories P, M, K, and S in the ISO classification system. It fits into standard T-A Series Seat Size 2 spade drill holders and is appropriate for both roughing and finish-entry drilling cycles in job shop and production environments. It is sold and packaged as a single insert.
Designed for use with T-A Series Seat Size 2 spade drill holders. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium (ISO classifications P, M, K, and S).
Installation is performed by a machinist or tool-room technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or seating the insert. Ensure the holder pocket and insert seat are clean and free of chips before installation, as debris under the insert will cause premature edge failure or holder damage. Follow the holder manufacturer's torque specification for the clamping screw — do not overtighten.
