The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 150T-13 is a cobalt spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding industrial machining applications. Part of the T-A Series, this insert features a 132-degree point angle and a physical vapor deposition (PVD) TiN coating applied over a T15 material grade cobalt substrate. The TiN coating reduces friction and extends tool life across a range of workpiece materials. At 0.125 inches thick and sized for a Seat Size 0 holder, the 150T-13 is a direct replacement insert that drops into compatible T-A Series spade drill bodies without modification. Weighing approximately 0.1 pounds, it is a standard single-use consumable for production and maintenance machining environments.
This insert is rated for use across multiple primary workpiece material classifications including steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), and super-alloys and titanium (S). It is suited for general-purpose drilling in CNC machining centers, manual mills, and lathe turret applications where a 13 mm diameter through-hole or blind-hole is required. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and production floor operators working in aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing will encounter this insert as a standard consumable in T-A Series tooling setups.
Designed as a replacement insert for T-A Series Seat Size 0 spade drill holders. Compatible workpiece material classifications include P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), and S (super-alloys and titanium) per ISO material group designations.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine placed in a lockout-tagout state before handling. Seat surfaces on the holder should be cleaned and inspected for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Use the appropriate insert screw and torque driver as specified by the holder manufacturer. Do not operate the insert beyond its rated material classifications, as misapplication can cause premature failure or workpiece damage.
