The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 132A-1.015 is a spade drill insert designed for high-feed hole-making operations in steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals. Manufactured from M4 high speed steel with a TiAlN PVD coating, this insert delivers extended tool life and heat resistance during aggressive drilling cycles. It carries a 132-degree point angle and measures 1-1/64 inches in diameter with a 0.1875-inch thickness. This insert fits Seat Size 2 holders in the T-A series and is installed by machining professionals and toolroom technicians in production drilling applications.
This insert is suited for use in T-A series spade drill holders in both CNC and manual drilling setups. Typical applications include production-volume hole-making in structural steel, cast iron components, and non-ferrous workpieces where a through-coolant or flood-coolant setup is common. The TiAlN coating makes it a practical choice for dry or semi-dry cutting conditions where surface temperatures run high. It is sold individually and is a direct replaceable consumable for the T-A holder system.
Designed for use with Seat Size 2 holders in the Allied Machine and Engineering T-A series spade drill system. Suitable for primary workpiece materials coded P (steel), K (cast iron), and N (non-ferrous metal).
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians following the holder manufacturer's insert-seating and torque procedures. Always de-energize and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Inspect the holder seat for damage, chips, or debris before installing a new insert. Follow shop safety standards and applicable OSHA machine guarding requirements during tool changes.
