The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 132A-0100 is a spade drill insert designed for high-speed drilling operations in industrial and manufacturing environments. This insert measures 1 inch in diameter, features a 132-degree point angle, and is manufactured from M4-grade high speed steel with a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) PVD coating. The coating improves wear resistance and heat tolerance during aggressive drilling cycles. At 0.1875 inches thick, the insert seats into Seat Size 2 holders from the T-A series. It is installed and serviced by machinists, toolroom technicians, and production drilling specialists.
This insert is suited for drilling steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous metals in production and job-shop settings. The T-A series spade drill system is widely used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production boring applications where indexable inserts reduce tooling changeover time. The 132-degree point geometry is well matched to entry in harder ferrous materials and helps reduce thrust force compared to flatter point angles. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling in structural steel, ductile iron, and aluminum alloys.
Designed for use with Seat Size 2 holders in the ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING T-A spade drill series. Compatible with primary workpiece materials designated P (steel), K (cast iron), and N (non-ferrous metals).
Spade drill inserts should be installed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician using the correct insert seating torque and holder specified by the tool system manufacturer. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Inspect the holder seat for chips or debris before installing a new insert, as contamination will affect runout and insert life. Do not use damaged or improperly seated inserts.
