The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 451H-0030 is a cobalt spade drill insert designed for use in spade drill holder systems. It features a 15/16-inch diameter, a 132-degree point angle, and an AM200 PVD coating applied over a cobalt substrate. The AM200 coating is a Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) finish engineered to extend tool life and reduce heat buildup during drilling operations. This insert fits Seat Size 1 holders in the GEN2 T-A series. It is used by machinists and tooling specialists in production drilling applications across a wide range of workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for drilling operations in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, titanium, and hard materials. It carries ISO material group designations P, M, K, S, and H, indicating broad material compatibility. Typical applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling in both job-shop and high-volume production environments. The GEN2 T-A series platform is a modular spade drill system, and this insert is intended for use with a compatible Seat Size 1 holder from that series.
Designed for use with Seat Size 1 holders in the Allied Machine and Engineering GEN2 T-A spade drill system. Compatible workpiece material groups include P (steel), M (stainless steel), K (cast iron), S (super-alloys and titanium), and H (hard materials).
Installation of spade drill inserts should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Seat the insert fully in the holder pocket and secure with the appropriate torque driver using the fastener supplied with the holder system. Inspect the insert seat and holder pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert. Follow the tool manufacturer guidelines for feed and speed parameters based on workpiece material group.
