The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 1C22T-0110-FB is a solid carbide spade drill insert engineered for high-performance hole-making in demanding materials. Measuring 1-5/16 inches in diameter with a 180-degree point angle, this insert seats into Seat Size 2 T-A series spade drill holders. The insert is PVD-coated with titanium nitride (TiN) for improved wear resistance and longer cutting life. At a thickness of 0.1875 inches, it is built to precise fractional-inch tolerances. Manufactured to grade C2 (K20) carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required in heavy-duty drilling applications across a range of workpiece materials.
This insert is suited for drilling operations in stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super-alloys including titanium. It is designed for use in production machining environments where consistent hole quality and insert life are critical. Machinists and tooling technicians working in aerospace, energy, and general manufacturing will find this insert compatible with Allied Machine T-A series spade drill bodies in the corresponding seat size. Applications include through-hole and blind-hole drilling on CNC machining centers and manual drilling rigs equipped with appropriate holders.
Designed for use with Allied Machine T-A series Seat Size 2 spade drill bodies. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), non-ferrous metals (N), and super-alloys and titanium (S) as defined by ISO material classification codes.
Installation is performed by tooling technicians or machinists on powered-down, locked-out machinery before insert seating. Ensure the holder pocket and insert seating surfaces are clean and free of chips or debris before securing the insert. Follow the drill body manufacturer torque specifications for the clamping screw to avoid insert movement or breakage during cutting. Verify spindle speed and feed rate settings are appropriate for the workpiece material and insert grade before resuming operation.
