The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 151T-0025-FB is a spade drill insert designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding machining applications. Built from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a PVD-applied titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this insert delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance compared to uncoated alternatives. It measures 25/32 inches in diameter, seats in a Size 1 holder, and features a 180-degree point angle suited for flat-bottom entry and exit conditions. The insert thickness is 0.1563 inches. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this type of insert in T-A series spade drill bodies used on CNC machining centers, lathes, and drill presses.
This insert is engineered for use across a broad range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, super-alloys, and titanium, corresponding to ISO material classifications P, M, K, and S. It is well suited for production drilling environments where insert-style tooling reduces downtime by allowing rapid blade changes without pulling the drill body from the spindle. Typical applications include structural component drilling, aerospace part machining, and general metalworking where consistent hole diameter and finish are required.
Designed for use with T-A series spade drill bodies accepting a Size 1 seat. Fits Allied Machine and Engineering T-A system holders sized for 25/32 inch diameter inserts. Verify seat size and body series before ordering.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom personnel following standard insert-change procedures for spade drill systems. Power down and de-energize the spindle and machine controls before accessing the drill body. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw specified by the drill body manufacturer — do not overtighten, as cobalt inserts can crack under excessive clamping force. Inspect the seat pocket for chips or damage before seating the new insert to ensure proper location and runout.
