The ALEMITE AL2103 is a straight hydraulic grease fitting designed for lubrication points that require a direct, inline grease gun connection. This type of fitting, commonly called a zerk or grease nipple, threads into a tapped port on a bearing housing, joint, or pivot and allows pressurized grease to pass through a spring-loaded ball check valve. The AL2103 uses an 8mm thread and is sold individually. It is installed by maintenance technicians, industrial mechanics, and fleet service professionals as part of routine lubrication system maintenance or component rebuild work.
Straight grease fittings are used where a grease gun coupler can approach the fitting head from a direct, unobstructed angle. Typical applications include agricultural equipment, construction machinery, automotive chassis components, and general industrial machinery with standard lubrication ports. The straight configuration is the most common fitting orientation and is widely used across mobile and stationary equipment with 8mm threaded lube ports.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement or new-installation grease fitting for equipment with 8mm threaded lubrication ports across agricultural, construction, automotive, and general industrial applications.
Installation is performed by mechanics and maintenance technicians using an open-end wrench or socket sized to the fitting hex. Thread the fitting into the tapped port by hand first to avoid cross-threading, then torque snugly using the wrench — do not overtighten, as the fitting body can fracture. Relieve system pressure and, where applicable, de-energize equipment before servicing lubrication points. Verify the ball check valve seats properly by attaching a grease gun and confirming grease flows without bypassing the fitting body.
