The Alarm Controls Corporation MCK-6-2 is a stainless steel pushbutton plate designed for access control and door release applications. It features a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) alternating action switch mechanism paired with dual-color LED indication — red and green — to provide clear visual status feedback at the point of actuation. This type of plate is typically surface-mounted at a door, gate, or secured entry point and is installed by licensed electricians or low-voltage security technicians. The SPDT output gives installers flexibility to wire the device into either normally open or normally closed circuits depending on the access control panel requirements.
The MCK-6-2 suits commercial and light industrial access control installations where a clean, durable actuator station is required at a controlled entry or exit point. The stainless steel construction holds up in high-traffic corridors, vestibules, and interior door frames. The alternating action means each press toggles the output state, making it appropriate for applications such as door release stations, interlock controls, or annunciator inputs. It is used with access control panels, electromagnetic locks, electric strikes, and similar low-voltage hardware.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation pushbutton plate for commercial access control systems utilizing SPDT switch inputs and standard low-voltage door control hardware.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or certified low-voltage technician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize the access control panel and any connected door hardware before wiring. Verify that the SPDT switch orientation matches the access control panel input requirements — normally open or normally closed — before completing the circuit. Consult the product manual for wiring terminal assignments and mounting hardware specifications.
