The AKUVOX ns-2 is a power distributor designed for use with Akuvox 2-wire IP intercom systems. It delivers both network connectivity and DC power to connected intercom devices over a single 2-wire cable run, eliminating the need for separate data and power infrastructure. The ns-2 accepts either 48VDC or 24VDC input from an external power supply unit and distributes that power downstream to up to 6 Akuvox 2-wire IP intercom devices. It supports multi-level cascade configurations, making it suitable for larger installations where devices span multiple floors or entry points. Licensed low-voltage technicians and access control installers are the typical trade professionals who work with this equipment.
The ns-2 is used in residential and commercial intercom installations built around the Akuvox 2-wire system architecture. It is specifically designed to support the R20A-2 and C313W-2 intercom devices, distributing both power and network signal through a single 2-wire cable. The cascade capability allows multiple ns-2 units to be chained together, extending coverage across large buildings or multi-tenant properties. The 2-wire topology reduces cable infrastructure requirements and simplifies rough-in work compared to traditional multi-conductor intercom wiring.

Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage technician or access control professional familiar with IP intercom systems. Disconnect and de-energize the power supply unit before making any wiring connections to the ns-2. The unit mounts on a standard DIN rail inside a suitable enclosure. Verify input voltage matches the power supply output (48VDC or 24VDC) before applying power to avoid damage to connected devices.
