The ACIQ DPSG-3S is a combination sight glass and moisture indicator designed for use in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. It gives technicians a fast visual check of refrigerant level and moisture content without opening the system. The etch-resistant glass uses a simple color comparison for quick diagnostics in the field. Copper sweat fittings allow solder installation without disassembling the unit, keeping the job clean and leak-free. The compact, short-body design fits easily inside condensing units where space is limited.
The DPSG-3S is suited for residential and light commercial air conditioning systems using 3/8 inch sweat connections on the liquid line. It is typically installed between the condenser and the metering device, where it can flag low refrigerant charge, a restricted filter drier, or excessive pressure drop before those conditions lead to compressor damage. HVAC technicians rely on this type of indicator during commissioning, seasonal startup, and troubleshooting calls.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation sight glass for residential and light commercial air conditioning systems with 3/8 inch sweat liquid-line connections.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician following EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling regulations. Recover system refrigerant and relieve system pressure before cutting into the liquid line. Sweat connections require standard copper soldering techniques; use proper flux and keep heat away from the sight glass body to avoid damaging the moisture indicator element. Recharge the system to manufacturer specifications and verify the moisture indicator color before returning the unit to service.
