The ACCUPRO T2634643 is a spiral flute tap designed for cutting 5/8-11 unified coarse internal threads in steel workpieces. Built from 3% Vanadium High Speed Steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this tap provides reliable cutting performance across general-purpose tapping operations. The modified bottoming chamfer allows the tap to thread closer to the bottom of a blind hole than a standard plug or taper chamfer. With a 33-degree helix angle and medium flute style, the three right-hand flutes evacuate chips efficiently during machine or hand tapping. Overall length is 3.8125 inches. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary installers of this type of cutting tool.
This tap is suited for threading blind or through holes in steel and similar ferrous materials in production machining, maintenance, and repair applications. The 3B class of fit produces a standard tolerance internal thread appropriate for most bolted and fastened assemblies. The H3 thread limit supports controlled oversize tolerance, helping to account for material springback in steel. Typical use scenarios include CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual tapping operations where a close-to-bottom thread depth is required.
Designed for cutting 5/8-11 UNC internal threads with a 3B class of fit in steel and similar ferrous materials. Fits standard tap holders and chucks sized for the 12.19 mm shank diameter.
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with tapping operations and speeds. Always secure the workpiece properly and use an appropriate cutting fluid rated for the material being tapped. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are set per the machine manufacturer and tooling guidelines before engaging the tap. Inspect the tap for wear or chipping before each use and replace if cutting edges are damaged.
