The ACCUPRO T1614556 is a spiral flute tap designed for cutting M14 x 1.50 metric threads in blind holes and challenging applications. Manufactured from 3% vanadium high speed steel (HSS) with an oxide finish, this tap offers improved wear resistance and lubricity compared to standard HSS. The 40-degree helix angle and fast flute style pull chips up and out of the hole, reducing the risk of chip packing in deep or interrupted cuts. A modified bottoming chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of a blind hole. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians use this tap in production and repair work where tight metric thread tolerances are required.

This tap is rated for use in stainless steel, one of the more demanding material applications for threading tools. The D6 thread limit indicates a tighter tolerance class appropriate for close-tolerance metric thread fits. Right-hand flute direction and right-hand thread form are standard configuration.
