The ACCUPRO QCLK-2 ST DIA1" is a tension and compression tapping chuck designed for use on CNC machining centers and tapping machines that require a straight shank connection. It accepts a 1-inch straight shank and features a quick-change design for fast tool swaps during production runs. With a maximum tap capacity of 7/8 inch (M20 metric equivalent) and a projection of 2.519 inches, this chuck covers a wide range of tapping operations from 1/4 inch pipe taps up through larger thread sizes. It uses a Size 2 tap adapter and is installed by machinists and toolroom professionals working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This tapping chuck is suited for production and job-shop environments running vertical or horizontal machining centers, drill presses with tapping capability, or dedicated tapping machines. The tension and compression float compensates for slight feed-rate variations between the machine spindle and the tap, reducing tap breakage and improving thread quality. It is a common choice for shops running mixed tap sizes where quick changeover between adapters is a priority. Through-coolant is not supported on this unit.
Designed for use with Size 2 tap adapters on machining centers and tapping machines that accept a 1-inch straight shank toolholder. Compatible with taps ranging from 1/4 inch pipe tap capacity up to 7/8 inch (M20). Through-coolant tooling is not compatible with this chuck.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's spindle interface requirements. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in a safe state before mounting or removing the chuck. Verify the straight shank is clean and free of burrs before seating it in the holder to ensure proper runout. Torque any retention hardware to the machine tool manufacturer's specification using the appropriate spanner wrench or retention knob tool.
