The ACCUPRO CR05300000MSC is a standard Morse taper reducing sleeve designed to adapt an MT3 inside taper to an MT5 outside taper. Hardened and ground throughout, this sleeve delivers the dimensional accuracy and surface integrity that machine tool applications demand. It measures 6-13/16 inches overall length with a 1/4 inch projection, and weighs 2.65 pounds. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this sleeve when adapting tooling with a smaller Morse taper shank into a spindle or socket with a larger Morse taper bore, maintaining concentricity and secure seating throughout the operation.
This reducing sleeve is used in metalworking environments where lathe tailstocks, milling machine spindles, drill press quills, or similar machine tool spindles require an MT5 bore to accept MT3-shank tooling. The sleeve allows shops to run a broader range of tooling without dedicated holders for each taper size. It is appropriate for both production and toolroom settings where accurate taper-to-taper fitment is critical to workpiece quality and tool retention.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before inserting or removing the sleeve. Ensure both the sleeve taper and the spindle bore are clean and free of chips, oil, or burrs before seating, as contamination will cause misalignment and reduce tool holding force. Use a drift through the spindle drift slot against the projection to eject the sleeve cleanly without damaging the taper surfaces.
