The ACCUPRO B4901500R is a corner radius boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Machined from submicron-grade solid carbide, this right-hand-cut tool delivers consistent performance in tight-tolerance bore finishing applications. It accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.49 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 1.5 inches. The bright finish coating reduces built-up edge and aids chip evacuation. With a 0.5-inch shank diameter and a 3-inch overall length, it mounts securely in standard boring bar holders used by machinists and toolroom technicians.
This boring bar is suited for residential machine shops, production toolrooms, and job shops requiring controlled corner radii on bored features. The corner radius range of 0.005 to 0.008 inches makes it appropriate for applications where sharp internal corners are not permissible or where a small controlled radius is required by part print. It is commonly used in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where submicron carbide provides adequate hardness and wear resistance for finish-boring passes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tool for standard 0.5-inch boring bar holders used in CNC and manual turning applications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank fully within the boring bar holder to the manufacturer-recommended clamping depth before engaging the workpiece. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret or tool post is locked before changing or adjusting the bar. Do not exceed the stated maximum bore depth of 1.5 inches, as overhang beyond this point increases deflection risk and can affect surface finish and dimensional accuracy.
