The ACCUPRO B4901250A is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from submicron-grade carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) for heat and wear resistance, this bar handles tight-tolerance bore work in ferrous and nonferrous materials. It accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.49 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 1.25 inches, making it suited for shallow to mid-depth finish boring passes. The 0.5-inch shank diameter fits standard boring bar holders and quick-change tooling systems. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this bar where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are the priority.
This boring bar is used in production and job-shop environments for internal diameter finishing, light roughing, and diameter sizing on turned components. Its right-hand cutting direction suits conventional lathe setups where the spindle rotates counterclockwise when viewed from the tailstock. The 3-inch overall length provides a compact, rigid profile that reduces chatter during deep-reach boring passes. Typical applications include bore finishing on housings, bushings, flanges, and similar cylindrical workpieces where bore diameter and surface finish must meet close tolerances.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for 0.5-inch shank boring bar holders used on CNC and manual lathes requiring right-hand, solid carbide internal boring tooling.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. The machine spindle must be stopped and the turret or tool post de-energized before mounting or removing the boring bar. Clamp the shank securely in the holder to the full recommended grip length to minimize overhang and reduce vibration. Verify bore diameter and depth settings against the workpiece drawing before initiating the cutting pass.
