The ACCUPRO B3601500R is a corner radius boring bar machined from submicron solid carbide, designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It cuts right-hand with a minimum bore diameter of 0.36 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1.5 inches. The 3/8-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length make it well-suited for tight-tolerance finish boring where rigidity and dimensional accuracy are critical. The bright, uncoated finish allows machinists to monitor wear patterns and suits a wide range of workpiece materials without coating-related adhesion concerns.
This boring bar is used in job shop and production machining environments for finish boring operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The corner radius range of 0.005 to 0.008 inches provides a controlled edge break that reduces stress concentration in bored features. It is appropriate for small-diameter bores in mold components, hydraulic bodies, valve housings, and precision fixture work where a sharp square corner is not permitted. Machinists running live tooling, turret lathes, or small CNC turning centers will find this bar sized for common small-bore applications.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch boring bar holders on CNC turning centers, manual lathes, and turret setups where right-hand internal boring at diameters starting at 0.36 inches is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer's tooling guidelines. Secure the shank firmly in the boring bar holder with appropriate clamping torque per the holder manufacturer's specification, and verify runout before taking a cutting pass. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or adjusting the bar. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 1.5 inches, as overhang beyond this point significantly increases deflection risk and can cause tool breakage in carbide tooling.
