The ACCUPRO B3201500R is a corner radius boring bar designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Machined from submicron-grade solid carbide, it delivers superior rigidity and wear resistance compared to high-speed steel alternatives. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard lathe setups, and the bright finish keeps the tool free of coatings that could affect dimensional tolerances. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.32 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1.5 inches, this bar handles tight-tolerance internal features in a range of workpiece materials. Qualified machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tool.
This boring bar is suited for precision machining environments where controlled corner geometry is required on internal bores. The 0.005 to 0.008 inch corner radius range allows the operator to achieve specific blend radii at the base of bored features, reducing stress concentrations in finished components. It is commonly used in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing applications where solid carbide tooling is specified for hardened or difficult-to-machine materials. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard boring bar holders designed for that shank size.
Designed for use in boring bar toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch shank diameter, as found on CNC lathes and manual turning centers configured for solid carbide boring bars.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank in a compatible boring bar holder to the toolholder manufacturer's recommended clamping procedure, ensuring minimal overhang to reduce deflection. Confirm the machine spindle is fully stopped and all energy sources are locked out before mounting or adjusting tooling. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 1.5 inches, as this may cause tool deflection or breakage.
