The bar handles a minimum bore diameter of 0.29 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.6 inches. The 5/16-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length make it well-suited to compact toolholders. The B290600R is used in production and toolroom machining where a controlled corner radius is required at the base of a bored feature. The corner radius range of 0.005 to 0.008 inches reduces stress concentrations in the workpiece bore, which is critical for components subject to cyclic loading. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard forward-turning setups on most CNC and manual lathes.
