The ACCUPRO B180900A is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. Built from submicron-grade carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it delivers superior wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. The bar accepts a minimum bore diameter of 0.18 inches and reaches a maximum bore depth of 0.9 inches, making it well suited for small-diameter, close-tolerance bores. The 1/4-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length keep it compact and rigid. Right-hand cut geometry establishes the feed direction and tool orientation required for standard CNC lathe setups.
This boring bar is intended for use in precision machining environments including job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms. It is sized for small-bore work where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical. Typical applications include finishing bores in aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and hardened materials where the AlTiN coating provides an advantage in heat dissipation and tool life. The submicron carbide substrate resists micro-chipping at fine feed rates, supporting repeatable results in tight-tolerance work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit boring bar for toolholders and boring heads accepting a 1/4-inch shank diameter in CNC lathe and machining center applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Clamp the shank securely in the toolholder to the manufacturer-specified overhang length to minimize deflection and vibration. Verify bore direction and tool orientation match the programmed right-hand cut path before initiating a test pass.
