The ACCUPRO B160250R is a corner radius boring bar engineered for precision internal machining in tight-bore applications. Manufactured from submicron-grade solid carbide with a bright finish coating, this right-hand-cut tool delivers consistent dimensional accuracy and extended tool life in hardened and abrasive workpiece materials. It accepts a corner radius range of 0.0050 to 0.0080 inches, making it suitable for producing controlled radius profiles at the base of bored features. The 3/16-inch shank diameter and 2-inch overall length are sized for small-bore toolholders commonly found on CNC lathes, mill-turn centers, and manual boring setups. Machinists and CNC operators working in precision component manufacturing are the primary users of this tool.
The B160250R is designed for internal boring operations requiring a minimum bore diameter of 0.16 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.25 inches. It is well suited for aerospace, medical device, and precision instrument machining where tight tolerances and fine surface finishes in small bores are required. The submicron carbide substrate supports use in cast iron, hardened steel, stainless, and non-ferrous materials at appropriate cutting parameters for the bore size and depth.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use boring bar for small-bore internal machining applications requiring a 3/16-inch shank and right-hand cut orientation.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine in a full stop and lockout-tagout procedures followed per shop safety protocols. Secure the shank firmly in a compatible boring bar holder to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping method before cutting. Verify corner radius selection matches the part print requirement before beginning the bore cycle. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 0.25 inches to avoid deflection or tool breakage in this small-diameter, solid-carbide tool.
