The ACCUPRO B140700R is a corner radius boring bar designed for precision internal machining operations requiring tight corner geometry control. Manufactured from submicron solid carbide with a bright finish, this bar offers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for demanding bore finishing work. It accepts a 3/16 inch shank diameter, measures 2 inches in overall length, and delivers a corner radius range of 0.005 to 0.008 inches. The right-hand cutting direction suits conventional CNC and manual lathe setups. Machinists and toolroom operators use this bar when bore quality and corner geometry are critical to the finished part.
This boring bar is suited for small-diameter internal turning and boring operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.14 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.7 inches, it fits tight, shallow bore applications common in precision component machining, tooling fixtures, and instrument-grade part production. The submicron carbide grade supports higher surface speeds and extended tool life compared to standard carbide grades, making it a practical choice for production and jobshop environments alike.
Designed as a direct-fit boring bar for CNC lathes, manual lathes, and boring machines accepting a 3/16 inch shank tool holder. Specific machine compatibility depends on the toolholder bore and clamping system in use.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists familiar with lathe tooling setup. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or lockout-tagout state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the toolholder to the recommended insertion depth for the holder size to prevent deflection. Verify corner radius and bore diameter against print tolerances with a bore gauge before committing to a production run.
