The ACCUPRO B060400R is a corner radius boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations in tight-diameter applications. Machined from submicron-grade solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for consistent, accurate finishes in hardened or abrasive workpiece materials. The bar has a minimum bore diameter of 0.06 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.4 inches, making it suited to shallow, small-bore work where tool deflection and chatter must be minimized. The bright finish coating reduces friction at the cutting edge. With a 1/8-inch shank diameter and a 1.5-inch overall length, this bar is sized for small-bore tooling setups on lathes, boring mills, and machining centers. It is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom technicians.
The B060400R is intended for right-hand cut internal boring in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a controlled corner radius is required at the bore floor or wall transition. The corner radius range of 0.003 to 0.005 inches provides a defined edge break that reduces stress concentrations in precision-bored components. Typical applications include small hydraulic valve bores, instrument housings, and medical or aerospace components where bore geometry tolerances are tight. The compact shank diameter allows use in small-bore holders and collet-style toolholders commonly found on CNC turning centers and manual lathes.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 1/8-inch shank boring bar holders used in CNC turning centers, manual lathes, and small-bore machining applications requiring right-hand cut carbide boring bars.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank in a properly sized boring bar holder or collet to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping torque. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before tool changes. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping before each use, as submicron carbide is brittle and sensitive to interrupted cuts or improper seating in the holder.
