The ACCUPRO ACC-RXL6 is a left-hand, convex radius cutting tool bit designed for precision radius turning and form work on a lathe. Built to the RXL style, it features a solid carbide tip brazed to a 3/8-inch square shank, providing the rigidity and wear resistance required for consistent, repeatable cuts. The tool measures 2.5 inches in overall length with a 3/8-inch long tip and a 3/32-inch tip thickness. The 3/16-inch convex radius geometry produces a smooth, curved surface profile in a single pass. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this bit in standard square shank tool holders on manual or CNC lathes.
This tool bit is suited for both production and job-shop environments where radius form turning is required. The left-hand cutting direction makes it appropriate for facing operations moving away from the chuck or for specific lathe setups where a right-hand bit would conflict with the workpiece or fixture. The solid carbide tip handles ferrous and non-ferrous materials and holds an edge longer than high-speed steel in interrupted-cut or continuous-cut applications. It ships as a single unit and is ready to install directly into a compatible square shank tool holder.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new installation in standard 3/8-inch square shank tool holders used on manual and CNC lathes requiring a left-hand convex radius form bit.
This bit is installed by a machinist or tool crib technician into a compatible square shank tool holder and secured with the appropriate set screws. Power down and lock out the lathe spindle before seating or adjusting the tool bit in the holder. Ensure the tool is set at the correct center height for the workpiece diameter before taking a cut. Inspect the carbide tip for chipping or cratering after use on hardened materials, as carbide is brittle and susceptible to impact damage if mishandled during installation.
