The ACCUPRO ACC-RAD14 is a right-hand, concave, RAD-style radius cutting tool bit designed for precision radius turning and profiling operations on a lathe. This carbide-tipped bit measures 4.5 inches in overall length with a 0.75-inch tip length and a 0.1875-inch tip thickness. The 0.75-inch square shank provides rigid tool holding in standard tool post setups. It cuts a 0.4375-inch concave radius and is suited for machinists and toolroom operators working in metals, alloys, and similar machinable materials. The carbide tip delivers extended wear life compared to high-speed steel alternatives in production and job-shop environments.
This tool bit is applied in lathe operations where a consistent concave radius profile is required on a workpiece. Typical use cases include form turning, groove profiling, and shoulder radiusing on shafts, bushings, and similar cylindrical components. The right-hand orientation suits standard front-facing lathe setups. It is appropriate for manual engine lathes and CNC turning centers that accept square-shank tooling. Machinists in production shops, tool-and-die, and maintenance machining applications will find this a direct-fit replacement for worn or chipped RAD-style radius bits.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for RAD-style radius cutting tool bits used in standard square-shank lathe tool post holders accepting 0.75-inch shank tooling.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank firmly in the tool post holder before operation and verify the cutting edge is set at the correct center height for the lathe. Always bring the spindle to a full stop and isolate machine power before changing tooling. Follow the machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and depth of cut appropriate to the workpiece material and carbide insert tooling.
