The ACCUPRO ACC-HB4802500 is a helical boring bar machined from submicron-grade solid carbide for internal diameter boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. It features a right-hand cutting direction, a minimum bore diameter of 0.48 inches, and a maximum bore depth of 2.5 inches. The 0.5-inch shank diameter provides rigid tool holding, and the bright finish coating reduces built-up edge during cutting. With an overall length of 4 inches, this bar suits close-tolerance bore work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is selected by machinists and tooling specialists who require consistent dimensional accuracy in production and job-shop environments.
This boring bar is suited for internal diameter finishing and semi-finishing passes where bore geometry and surface finish tolerance are critical. The helical flute geometry promotes chip evacuation during deeper passes up to 2.5 inches. Typical applications include bore sizing on turned components, fixture bores, and bearing-fit surfaces in both low-volume prototype and production-run settings. The submicron carbide grade supports higher cutting speeds and maintains edge integrity longer than standard carbide grades under consistent chip loads.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling selection for CNC lathes and manual turning centers accepting a 0.5-inch shank boring bar in a straight-bore or collet-style toolholder.
Installation is performed by machining technicians and CNC setup personnel. Secure the 0.5-inch shank in a properly sized boring bar holder and confirm tool overhang does not exceed recommended length-to-diameter ratios for the material being cut. Power down and lock out the spindle before mounting or removing any cutting tool. Do not exceed the bore depth capacity of 2.5 inches in a single setup, and confirm workpiece clamping before initiating a cut.
