The ACCUPRO ACC-HB3001500 is a helical boring bar machined from submicron-grade solid carbide, designed for internal turning and boring operations on a variety of materials. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.3 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1.5 inches, this bar handles tight-tolerance small-bore work where rigidity and vibration resistance are critical. The bright finish coating protects the substrate and reduces built-up edge. A 5/16-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length make it compatible with standard boring bar holders and small-bore tool blocks. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this bar on CNC lathes and manual turning centers where precise, repeatable finish cuts are required.
This helical boring bar is suited for small-diameter internal boring in production machining, toolroom, and job-shop environments. The right-hand cutting direction makes it appropriate for conventional lathe setups where the spindle rotates counterclockwise when viewed from the tailstock. It is commonly selected for ferrous and non-ferrous materials where submicron carbide grain structure delivers extended tool life and consistent surface finish in finishing and light semi-finishing passes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard toolroom boring bar for use in turning centers and manual lathes equipped with 5/16-inch boring bar holders or compatible small-bore tool blocks.
Installation is typically performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool turret or holder is locked before installing or removing the bar. Secure the shank firmly in the holder to the depth recommended by the holder manufacturer to minimize overhang and reduce vibration. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth specification, as excessive overhang increases deflection and risk of tool breakage.
