The ACCUPRO ACC-GS054002 is a single point tool bit designed for cut-off and grooving operations on metal lathes and turning centers. Built with a micrograin solid carbide tip, this neutral-cutting bit delivers precise groove geometry in a compact 3/8 inch by 3/8 inch shank profile. The GS-style tool bit accepts a groove width range of 0.054 to 0.056 inches with a maximum depth of cut of 0.18 inches, making it suited for tight, accurate grooving passes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this bit when consistent groove width and edge integrity are critical to the finished part.
This tool bit is intended for use in CNC and manual lathe applications where narrow groove profiles and shallow-to-moderate depth of cut are required. The neutral cutting direction allows for straight plunge grooving without lateral offset. The micrograin carbide grade supports longer edge life in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials. This tool bit is installed by machinists on CNC or manual lathes using a compatible 3/8 inch tool holder. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the lathe is powered down before changing or setting tool bits. Secure the shank firmly in the toolpost to prevent movement during cut.
