It features a 3/8-inch shank diameter, a 0.0400-inch groove width, and a projection of 0.1100 inches, making it suited for tight-tolerance internal groove work. This grooving tool is intended for use in internal bore grooving applications where a full radius profile is required. It fits toolholders with a 3/8-inch bore and accommodates holes with a minimum diameter of 0.3750 inches and a maximum depth of 0.2500 inches. Typical applications include groove cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces on manual or CNC turning centers. Designed as a direct-fit replacement for 3/8-inch shank internal grooving toolholders requiring a full radius profile with a 0.0400-inch groove width.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists on CNC or manual turning equipment. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing the tool. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped to the specified toolholder torque per the toolholder manufacturer guidelines. Verify runout and projection before beginning a production run.
