The ACCUPRO ACC-G250-24 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for cutting internal retaining ring grooves in bored holes. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention needed for precise groove geometry in production and maintenance machining environments. The tool features a 1/2-inch shank diameter and a 0.2510-inch groove width, making it suited for applications where retaining ring groove tolerances are critical. This grooving tool is used in applications requiring internal retaining ring grooves in holes with a minimum diameter of 0.5000 inches. It accommodates hole depths up to 1.5000 inches with a projection of 0.1600 inches, covering a wide range of typical retaining ring groove depths found in hydraulic cylinders, gear assemblies, shafts, and housings. It is suited for both job shop and production floor use across general metalworking and precision machining operations.
Designed as a direct-fit grooving tool for toolholders accepting a 1/2-inch round shank, compatible with standard lathe and CNC turning center setups where internal retaining ring grooving is performed.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with internal grooving operations on a lathe or CNC turning center. Ensure the workpiece is fully secured and the machine is at a complete stop before mounting or changing the tool. Verify shank clamping torque and toolholder condition before cutting to prevent tool pullout during groove passes. Use appropriate cutting fluid for carbide tooling and adhere to recommended surface footage for the workpiece material.
