The ACCUPRO ACC-G250-16 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for internal groove cutting in bores and holes. Built from submicron-grade carbide, it delivers the edge retention and wear resistance needed for precision groove work in hardened or abrasive materials. The tool features a 1/2 inch shank diameter, cuts a groove width of 0.2510 inches, and has an overall length of 3 inches. It is used by machinists and tooling specialists performing internal retaining ring groove operations on CNC lathes and boring setups where tight dimensional tolerances are required.
This grooving tool is suited for internal retaining ring groove applications in production and job-shop environments. It supports a minimum hole diameter of 0.5000 inches and a maximum hole depth of 1 inch, with a projection of 0.1600 inches. The submicron carbide grade makes it appropriate for grooving steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous alloys where consistent groove geometry is critical for proper retaining ring seating.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling fit for 1/2 inch bore grooving toolholders used in retaining ring groove applications on CNC lathes and boring machines.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with internal grooving operations. Secure the shank fully in the toolholder to the manufacturer-specified grip depth before operation. Verify spindle and turret are fully powered down and locked out before changing or setting tooling. Do not exceed the tool's rated maximum hole depth of 1 inch to avoid deflection or tool breakage.
