The ACCUPRO ACC-G156-8 is a solid carbide internal grooving tool designed to cut retaining ring grooves in bored holes. Built from submicron-grade carbide, it delivers consistent edge retention and dimensional accuracy in production and maintenance machining environments. The tool features a 1/2 inch shank diameter and an overall length of 3.0 inches, making it compatible with standard toolholders used on lathes and boring setups. A projection of 0.160 inches positions the cutting edge for controlled groove depth, while the 0.157 inch groove width is sized for standard retaining ring applications. Machinists and toolroom technicians working in metalworking, maintenance repair, or precision parts manufacturing will find this tool suited for repeatable groove cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
This grooving tool is applied in internal boring operations where retaining ring grooves must be machined into a hole. The minimum hole diameter it will enter is 0.500 inches, and the maximum hole depth it can reach is 0.500 inches.
