The ACCUPRO ACC-G156-20 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for precision internal groove cutting in machining applications. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and wear resistance needed for accurate retaining ring groove profiles in bored holes. The tool features a 1/2 inch shank diameter and a 0.1570 inch groove width, making it suitable for machinists and toolroom professionals working on tight-tolerance bore work. At 3.0 inches overall length with a 2.0 inch shank length, it fits standard toolholding setups without extended-reach adapters in most common applications.
This grooving tool is used in CNC machining centers and manual lathes where retaining ring grooves must be cut into bored holes. It is suited for production and repair work where consistent groove geometry is required to seat internal retaining rings reliably. The minimum hole diameter of 0.5000 inches defines the smallest bore it can enter, and the maximum hole depth capacity of 1.2500 inches covers the majority of standard shallow-bore groove applications encountered in general machining and precision component work.
