The ACCUPRO ACC-G093-20 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for cutting precise internal grooves in bores and holes. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide, this tool delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for accurate, repeatable groove profiles in demanding machining applications. With a 0.094-inch groove width and a 1/2-inch shank diameter, it fits standard tool holders used in CNC lathes and boring setups. The 0.160-inch projection and 3-inch overall length make it suited for reaching groove positions in blind and through-bore configurations. Machinists and toolroom professionals use this grooving tool when installing or preparing seats for retaining rings in precision assemblies.
This tool is intended for internal retaining ring groove applications in bores with a minimum hole diameter of 0.500 inches and a maximum hole depth of 1.250 inches. It is commonly used in CNC turning centers, manual lathes, and boring mills where tight groove tolerances are required for snap ring and retaining ring fits. Solid carbide construction makes it well suited for ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials where high surface finish and dimensional accuracy are required.
Designed as an OEM-style retaining ring grooving tool for use in bores with a minimum hole diameter of 0.500 inches, compatible with standard 1/2-inch shank tool holder systems on CNC lathes and manual turning equipment.
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist following standard tool holder torque and clamping procedures for 1/2-inch shank tooling. Verify that the machine spindle and workpiece are fully secured and that the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Confirm bore diameter and depth specifications against workpiece drawings before cutting to avoid groove position errors. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be subjected to interrupted cuts or excessive side loading beyond the tool design parameters.
