The ACCUPRO ACC-G087-20 is a solid carbide internal grooving tool designed for cutting retaining ring grooves in bored holes. Built from submicron carbide grade material, it delivers the edge retention and rigidity needed for precise groove geometry in ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The tool features a 3/8 inch shank diameter and cuts a groove width of 0.0880 inches. With a minimum hole diameter of 0.3750 inches and a maximum hole depth of 1.2500 inches, it is suited for close-tolerance internal grooving operations on CNC lathes and boring mills.
This grooving tool is used in machining applications where internal retaining ring grooves must be cut to precise dimensional tolerances. Typical installation scenarios include production turning and repair work on hydraulic cylinders, gearbox housings, and similar bored components. The 0.1100 inch projection and 2-1/2 inch overall length make it practical for shallow to moderate depth bores. It is intended for use by machinists and tool and die professionals working on manual or CNC turning equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style internal grooving tool for use in standard 3/8 inch bore toolholders on CNC and manual turning equipment capable of internal grooving operations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Secure the shank firmly in the toolholder and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the workpiece is properly fixtured and the machine spindle is at a full stop before tool changes. Do not exceed the maximum hole depth rating of 1.2500 inches during operation.
