The ACCUPRO ACC-G069-8 is a solid carbide internal grooving tool designed for cutting retaining ring grooves in bored holes. Built from submicron-grade carbide, it delivers consistent groove geometry and edge retention in production and job-shop machining environments. The tool features a 3/8-inch shank diameter, a 0.0700-inch groove width, and a 0.1100-inch projection, making it suited for precision internal grooving operations. Machinists and toolroom technicians install this tool in CNC lathes and boring setups where tight groove tolerances are required for retaining ring seating.
This grooving tool is used in applications where internal retaining ring grooves must be machined into bored holes with a minimum hole diameter of 0.3750 inches. It accommodates a maximum hole depth of 0.5000 inches, keeping it appropriate for shallow-bore grooving tasks in both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 2.0000-inch shank length and 2.5-inch overall length provide adequate reach while maintaining rigidity during the cut.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement-style retaining ring grooving tool for use in standard 3/8-inch shank toolholders on CNC lathes and manual boring setups requiring a 0.0700-inch groove width.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank fully in a compatible toolholder and verify projection before engaging the cut. Power down the machine and release all stored energy before mounting or removing the tool. Do not exceed the rated maximum hole depth of 0.5000 inches to avoid deflection or tool breakage.
