The ACCUPRO ACC-G046-12 is a solid carbide retaining ring grooving tool designed for internal groove cutting operations. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide, this tool delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for precision grooving in bore applications. The 3/8-inch shank diameter provides secure toolholder engagement, and the 0.0470-inch groove width produces consistent, accurate retaining ring seats. With an overall length of 2.5 inches and a projection of 0.1100 inches, this tool is suited for machinists and toolroom technicians working on small-bore internal groove applications where tight dimensional control is required.
This grooving tool is used for cutting internal retaining ring grooves in bores with a minimum hole diameter of 0.3750 inches. It handles bore depths up to 0.7500 inches, making it practical for a range of small-bore workpieces in production machining, repair shop, and toolroom environments. The solid carbide construction makes it suitable for use in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar machinable materials where wear resistance and dimensional accuracy are priorities.
Designed for use in standard 3/8-inch bore grooving toolholders and compatible with lathes and machining centers accepting a 3/8-inch shank. Suitable for internal retaining ring groove applications in bores with a minimum diameter of 0.3750 inches.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with boring and grooving operations. Secure the shank firmly in the toolholder to the full recommended engagement depth before operation. Ensure the workpiece is properly chucked and the machine spindle is stopped completely before measuring or adjusting tool projection. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and cutting speed based on workpiece material.
