The ACCUPRO ACC-C500 is a neutral-hand, square-nose single point tool bit designed for precision metal cutting operations on lathes and manual turning centers. Built with a micrograin solid carbide tip brazed to a rigid shank, this bit delivers consistent edge retention and resistance to thermal deformation under continuous cutting loads. The shank measures 0.5 inches in both width and height, with an overall length of 6 inches. The C-style geometry and neutral cutting direction make it well suited for straight plunge cuts, facing passes, and chamfering work where tool deflection must be minimized. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users of this bit.
The ACC-C500 fits into standard 0.5-inch square tool holders commonly found on manual engine lathes and small CNC turning centers used in job shops, maintenance departments, and production environments. Its cutting geometry supports multiple operations including chamfering, facing, forming, and turning, reducing the need to swap bits mid-operation. The micrograin carbide grade is appropriate for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials where fine grain structure improves surface finish and edge life compared to standard carbide grades.
Designed as a standard C-500 industry-designation replacement tool bit for use in 0.5-inch square boring bars and tool holders on manual and CNC lathes requiring a neutral, square-nose single point insert-style brazed carbide bit.
A licensed machinist or qualified toolroom technician should install and set this tool bit. Power down and lock out the lathe spindle before loading or adjusting the bit in the tool holder. Ensure the tool holder set screws are tightened securely and that the cutting edge is set to the correct centerline height before taking a cut. Inspect the carbide tip for chips or cracks before each use, as a damaged tip can cause unpredictable tool behavior and workpiece damage.
