The ACCUPRO ACC-BBL2301200 is a solid carbide boring bar engineered for precision internal boring operations. It features a left-hand cutting direction and is manufactured from submicron-grade solid carbide, delivering the hardness and wear resistance required for tight-tolerance bores in demanding machining environments. The bar carries a bright finish coating and is designed for use in CNC lathes, turning centers, and manual boring setups. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.23 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1.2 inches, it handles a practical range of small-diameter internal features. The 5/16-inch shank diameter and 2.5-inch overall length suit compact tooling arrangements where rigidity and reach must be balanced.
This boring bar is suited for precision machining shops, tool rooms, and production turning operations where small-diameter internal bores are required. Its left-hand cutting direction makes it appropriate for back-boring applications or setups where a standard right-hand bar cannot reach the target geometry. Machinists working with non-ferrous metals, plastics, and other materials compatible with uncoated carbide tooling will find this bar a direct fit for fine-finish and close-tolerance boring work.
Designed for use in toolholders and boring heads that accept a 5/16-inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC turning centers and manual lathes equipped for left-hand internal boring operations.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at rest. Secure the shank in a compatible toolholder to the recommended clamping engagement depth to maintain rigidity and minimize deflection. Verify tool overhang is minimized relative to the bore depth to reduce chatter risk. Follow the machine manufacturer and toolholder specifications for setscrew torque and runout tolerance before beginning a cut.
