The ACCUPRO ACC-BBL160250 is a left-hand cut solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide, this bar delivers the rigidity and wear resistance required for tight-tolerance bore finishing. It handles a minimum bore diameter of 0.16 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.25 inches. The bright finish coating reduces friction and helps with chip evacuation in small-diameter bore work. With a 3/16-inch shank diameter and a 2-inch overall length, this tool is sized for close-quarters boring applications where standard bars are too large.
This boring bar is suited for small-bore work in precision machining environments, including job shops, tool rooms, and production turning operations. It is appropriate for non-ferrous metals, plastics, and other materials where submicron carbide grade offers performance advantages. The left-hand cutting direction makes it the correct choice for specific spindle orientations or back-boring setups where a right-hand tool cannot be used. Machinists and CNC programmers working with lathes and turning centers are the primary users of this tool.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for lathes and CNC turning centers that accept 3/16-inch shank boring bars with left-hand cutting geometry.
Installation of boring bars should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and spindle locked before toolholder setup. Ensure the shank is clamped securely in the toolholder to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth to prevent chatter or tool pullout. Verify cutting direction compatibility with spindle rotation before starting the cut. Follow all applicable shop safety procedures when handling carbide tooling, as edges are sharp and carbide is brittle under impact.
