The ACCUPRO ACC-BB4902000A is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal turning and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. Built from micrograin solid carbide stock, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for tight-tolerance bore work in steel, cast iron, stainless, and non-ferrous materials. The bar carries a TiAlN finish coating that extends tool life under dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. Minimum bore diameter is 0.49 inches, maximum bore depth is 2 inches, shank diameter is 0.5 inches, and overall length is 4 inches. Machinists and toolroom operators select this bar when dimensional accuracy and surface finish in a small-diameter bore are the primary requirements.
This boring bar is suited for light to medium-duty boring applications in production machining, job shop work, and toolroom environments. Its right-hand cutting direction makes it compatible with standard spindle rotation on conventional CNC turning centers and engine lathes. The 0.5-inch shank fits toolholders and boring bar blocks sized for that diameter, which are common on lathes in the mid-size range. It is appropriate for both roughing passes at moderate depths of cut and finish passes where surface finish and bore roundness are critical.
Designed for use in toolholders and boring bar blocks accepting a 0.5 inch shank diameter on CNC turning centers and manual engine lathes with standard right-hand spindle rotation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Secure the shank in a properly sized boring bar holder or block, ensuring adequate overhang is minimized to reduce vibration and deflection during the cut. Confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before loading or adjusting the tool. Follow the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when setting tool offsets and establishing cut parameters.
