The ACCUPRO ACC-BB3601600G is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers tight tolerances and a stable cutting edge even at elevated feeds and speeds. The right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle rotation setups. A titanium nitride (TiN) finish coating reduces friction, extends tool life, and improves surface finish in the bore. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.36 inches and a maximum bore depth of 1.6 inches, this bar fits a range of small-diameter internal turning applications in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and toolroom technicians install and operate this tool in daily cutting operations.
This boring bar is suited for small-bore internal turning work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where tight dimensional tolerances are required. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard boring bar holders and quick-change tooling systems commonly found on manual and CNC lathes. Its 2.5-inch overall length keeps overhang manageable, reducing chatter and deflection at depth. Typical applications include finishing and semi-finishing bores in production machining, repair work, and prototype operations where micrograin carbide grade and TiN coating provide consistent performance.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide boring bar for use in any lathe or turning center equipped with a boring bar holder accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the shank firmly in the boring bar holder to the minimum recommended overhang to reduce chatter and deflection. Ensure the cutting edge is set at the correct centerline height before engaging the workpiece. Always power down and lock out the machine before changing or adjusting tooling per applicable shop safety procedures.
