The ACCUPRO ACC-BB3601600 is a solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Manufactured from submicron-grade solid carbide with a bright finish, it delivers consistent cutting performance in tight-tolerance bores. The right-hand cut geometry suits standard spindle rotation setups. Minimum bore diameter is 0.36 inches with a maximum bore depth of 1.6 inches, making it well suited for shallow-to-medium depth internal features. The 3/8-inch shank diameter fits standard boring bar holders and quick-change tooling systems. Overall length is 3 inches. Machinists and toolroom technicians select this bar for its rigidity and resistance to deflection in small-diameter bores.
This boring bar is intended for use in production and job-shop environments where consistent bore geometry and surface finish are required. It is appropriate for ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials where carbide tooling provides a performance advantage over high-speed steel. Typical applications include finish boring of through and blind holes in turned parts, where maintaining tight diameter tolerances and low surface roughness is the primary objective. The submicron carbide grade supports higher cutting speeds and longer tool life compared to standard carbide grades.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and direct-fit boring bar for standard 3/8-inch boring bar holders used in CNC turning centers and manual lathes.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before installing or removing the boring bar from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the set screws are torqued per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify tool overhang does not exceed the recommended length-to-diameter ratio for the bore depth to minimize deflection and chatter.
